"One shot in the south"

This book is still in the making. It is also a story about intolerance (a subject that interests me greatly). The book is about racism and homophobia in the American South of the 1950`s.  In the book a small town is shown in all the ugliness hidden behind the facade. The hidden question is what makes people tick. Is it money, power, sex or love (or maybe religion?). That people sometimes do unjust things to others in pursuit for their goals and that the end becomes more important than the means of achieving these goals, is explicitly revealed by the actions of the characters in the book. In the final analysis, we began to understand that fascist behaviour is always just below the democratic surface of societies and can very easy show its ugly face.
